Joshua Nass, a 34-year-old New York lobbyist and attorney with connections to a presidential pardon issued by Donald Trump, was arrested and charged with attempted Hobbs Act extortion in federal court in Brooklyn. Prosecutors allege that Nass threatened a former client for payment he claimed was owed for his services. He allegedly provided an individual with the client's contact information and addresses, instructing them to intimidate the client into paying. The threats reportedly included physical assault of the client's son, forced abduction with masked men, and threats to the son's family. Nass allegedly agreed to pay the individual at least $15,000 for these efforts. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
