Singa Bui, a disbarred real-estate lawyer, was sentenced to 20 days in jail for contempt of court after embezzling nearly $7 million from clients while defying court orders.
Justice William Chalmers criticized Bui's consistent disregard for court orders, issuing her a sentence after stating that she only acted when faced with legal repercussions.
