Three people, including law professor Crystal Lynn Welch, were found shot to death in a Ridgeland home on Mother's Day. The suspect, Ivory James Welch III, was confronted in Arizona and fatally wounded.
Crystal Welch was known for her social justice advocacy work, including leading the effort to replace Mississippi's Confederate-themed flag. Her untimely death was deeply mourned.
