Justin Timberlake and Tiger Woods are settling a lawsuit involving T-Squared Social in Manhattan. The lawsuit alleged that bartenders Ana Campos and Jonathan Weiss were denied tips they earned and were paid incorrect overtime rates. A federal court filing in New York states the parties reached an agreement in principle, and the settlement must be finalized within 30 days. After that period, the case will be dropped. Campos and Weiss filed the lawsuit in January. Mediation occurred shortly after the case began, leading to a settlement framework. Timberlake and Woods opened the Manhattan venue in 2023 and also own a T-Squared Social in Scotland. Both have other legal matters pending, including DWI-related issues.
"Justin Timberlake and Tiger Woods are settling a lawsuit brought against the New York sports bar and restaurant they own which alleged bartenders were denied tips they made and underpaid for overtime. A Monday, May 18th New York federal court filing by Timberlake and Woods' attorney said they had reached an agreement in principle with Ana Campos and Jonathan Weiss, bartenders at T-Squared Social in Manhattan, to settle the lawsuit. The parties have 30 days to finalize the agreement, after which the case will be dropped."
"Campos and Weiss sued T-Squared in January alleging the bar's management was illegally "retaining their tips and paying the wrong overtime rates." Only a couple months into the lawsuit, the parties went into mediation and came out of that with the framework of a settlement, according to the recent court filing."
"Timberlake and Woods opened T-Squared Social of Manhattan in 2023 with the golfer saying in a press release that the idea came to them while playing golf. "Justin and I thought it would be cool to create a place that combines our favorite things and brings people together to just have a great time," Woods said, according to an ESPN report. The two also own another T-Squared Social in Scotland."
"Both men have other legal issues ongoing. Timberlake is in another lawsuit to block the release of police body camera footage from a 2024 DWI arrest. Woods was arrested with a charge of DWI in March, afterwards saying he was stepping out of the public's eye to "seek treatment.""
