Briefly

Working in Big Law meant long hours and high expectations. I made a lot of money, but part of me felt empty for a long time.
I grew up very sheltered, going to predominantly white private schools, so hearing my students talk about how the legal system affected their lives opened my mind.
I wanted to do nonprofit work but knew I wouldn't have the financial security to do so right out of law school.
