Knockmitten House Services ULC and Mashup Property Ltd have initiated Commercial Court proceedings alleging breach of a €4.4 million refurbishment contract. The contract covered renovation of a building in a west Dublin industrial estate to serve as an accommodation centre for international protection applicants. The defendants named in the proceedings are the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Norma Foley, and the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O'Callaghan. The companies allege contractual obligations were not fulfilled and have sought legal remedies to address the alleged breach.
