In a recent CNN legal analysis, former deputy assistant attorney general Elliot Williams critiqued the Trump DOJ's assertion that a judge's informal verbal order to pause deportations lacked weight since it wasn't documented in writing. White House representatives are emphasizing that they are not disregarding the judge's order, raising concerns about the implications of ignoring such orders. This situation possibly lays the groundwork for a constitutional crisis if not handled properly, as questions remain whether the case may ultimately escalate to the Supreme Court.
