Brooklyn daycare teacher indicted for alleged sexual abuse of young children
""The conduct alleged in this case shocks the conscience," said District Attorney Gonzalez. "Innocent children were entrusted to a teacher's care to safely learn and grow, but instead this defendant allegedly shattered that trust in the worst way. We will continue to aggressively prosecute this and any other case in which someone abuses their position of authority to harm a child.""
"Brown faces charges including second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, first- and second-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching, and endangering the welfare of a child."
Devonte Brown, 30, of Bedford-Stuyvesant, was indicted and arraigned on multiple counts of sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. He is accused of abusing four girls ages five to nine between April 2024 and August 2025 while working at a Bushwick daycare and once during a trip to Brooklyn Bridge Park. The indictment lists charges including second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, first- and second-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching, and endangering the welfare of a child. Brown is held on $150,000 cash bail with additional bond options and is scheduled to return to court on March 27. The case is being handled by the Brooklyn District Attorney's Special Victims Bureau.
