Brockton man charged in hit-and-run that killed pedestrian
"Around 10 p.m. on Aug. 31, a blue Mazda struck a pedestrian crossing Crescent Street in Brockton and then fled the scene, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office. On Sept. 3, that pedestrian - identified as 41-year-old Holden Depina - died at a local hospital from related injuries. Police had obtained surveillance footage of the blue Mazda arriving at the residence of the suspect, Dominick Leite, 30, authorities said."
"Through investigative efforts, law enforcement located a blue 2015 Mazda 6 with damage consistent to the fatal incident at a local autobody shop. The vehicle - which investigators determined is registered to Leite - had been brought into the shop for repairs shortly after the incident on September 2. The phone number used to contact the autobody shop was also traced back to Leite by law enforcement."
