Police had obtained surveillance footage of the blue Mazda arriving at the residence of the suspect, Dominick Leite, 30, authorities said."
"Through investigative efforts, law enforcement located a blue 2015 Mazda 6 with damage consistent to the fatal incident at a local autobody shop. The vehicle - which investigators determined is registered to Leite - had been brought into the shop for repairs shortly after the incident on September 2. The phone number used to contact the autobody shop was also traced back to Leite by law enforcement."

Leite was arrested on Sept. 17 and charged with motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation and leaving the scene of personal injury or death; his bail was set at $2,500 and he is due back in court Oct. 17.
