"Sergeant Stephen O'Brien told the Cahersiveen District Court that Mr Menolascina had used the blade of scissors on a Swiss-Army style knife to make "cutting strokes" to 28 items of clothing valued at €27,869 at the Quills Woollen Market in Kenmare on May 10. The clothing included 22 sheepskin coats, a tweed jacket, two coats and a top. The items were unsuitable for resale."
"He was also charged for damaging the soft part of furnishings, including a chaise longue and three armchairs valued at €7,500 and a corner couch at the Landsdowne Hotel on May 9 and 10. Finally, he was charged with damaging 21 articles of clothing valued at €1,091 at Foley's Craft Shop on Main Street on May 10."
"Sgt O'Brien said Mr Menolascina had no criminal record, there was no use of intoxicants and no suggestion of a confrontation. "We genuinely don't know what happened here with this man," said the sergeant."
""It must have been frightening for the people working there," said Judge David Waters. Sgt O'Brien said Mr Menolascina had no criminal record, there was no use of intoxicants and no suggestion of a confrontation. "We genuinely don't know what happened here with this man," said the sergeant."
