Snoop Dogg performed at the AFL grand final despite a history of anti-gay comments and a reported $2 million payment defended by the AFL chief executive. Snoop later said on a podcast that watching a Toy Story spin-off with his grandson, who questioned how a woman could have a baby with another woman, had "thrown" him and made him fearful of films that acknowledge LGBTQ+ people. Ts Madison called those comments rooted in homophobia and urged parents to explain that realities exist beyond what is deemed normal at home. Ts Madison also celebrated recognition as a Black transgender woman in Washington DC.
Snoop Dogg told the It's Giving podcast that he had watched Toy Story spin-offwhich featured a same-sex kiss, with his grandson, who had asked him: "Papa Snoop, how she have a baby with a woman? She's a woman." The singer recalled thinking: "Aw s**t, I didn't come for this s**t, I came here to watch the god-damn movie. Y'all throwing me in the middle of this s**t that I don't have an answer for." He went on to say: "It threw me for a loop."
"As a parent, you should explain to your children that other things exist in the world outside of what you have deemed normal in your home," she said. Earlier this year, the reality star was honoured with a Ts Madison day, in Washington DC. "I am so humbled and overjoyed to be still moving loud and proud as a Black transgender woman during this egregious Trump regime," she said, "stepping over all the hate that comes with it."
