"BFI Flare is returning for its 40th edition this March with a bumper programme of over 120 LGBTQIA+ films from around the world. Taking place online and at the BFI Southbank, the programme is split into three main sections - Hearts (with films about love and romance), Bodies (stories about identity, transformation and sex) and Minds (films that touch on politics, community and art) - plus a selection of Shorts and queer classics from across the decades."
"The festival opens with Hunky Jesus, the doc that takes you inside San Francisco's annual Easter pageant, and closes with Sandulela Asanda's directorial debut Black Burns Fast. And there's plenty to keep you entertained in between, including a special presentation of Big Girls Don't Cry by writer-director Paloma Schneideman; indie drama I Am Going to Miss You, featuring an all-trans cast; Barbara Forever, a portrait of trailblazing filmmaker Barbara Hammer;"
"As well as all those movies to watch, you can get involved in a range of events, from panel talks to DJ nights to exhibitions - including one at the newly reopened Queer Britain. Tickets for BFI Flare go on sale to BFI Patrons at 12pm on Mon 23rd February, to BFI Members at 12pm on Tues 24th February and to the general public at 12pm on Thurs 26th February."
