An LGBTQ+ youth center in Los Angeles has been repeatedly vandalized with bags of dog feces, with incidents occurring over several months. Law enforcement has stated that no suspects have been identified, and they are unable to act without witnessing the crime in progress. The Latino Equity Alliance condemned the harassment, calling for community solidarity against such targeted hate. Mi SELA, the center in question, offers various support services for the Latine LGBTQ+ community. In response to these incidents, a grant was issued to upgrade the center's security cameras.
"This senseless harassment is abhorrent and unacceptable. In 2025, it is shocking that young people and community organizations continue to face such targeted hate and intimidation."
"LEA calls on our neighbors, city leaders, and all members of the Bell community to stand together, speak out, and make clear that attacks on LGBTQ+ youth, their spaces, and their safety will never be tolerated."
