Snoop Dogg backtracks on LGBTQ+ inclusion comments with kids' music video
"At the end of the day, it's all about love - that's what we're teachin' the kids with 'Love Is Love.' Partnering with GLAAD for Spirit Day just felt right, because spreading love and respect for everybody is what real gangstas do. We're showin' the next generation that kindness is cool, inclusion is powerful, and love always wins."
"Love! Love! Love! Love who you are."
"send a powerful message to LGBTQ youth"
Snoop Dogg teamed up with GLAAD and queer musician Jeremy Beloate to create the song and video 'Love Is Love' for the animated children's series Doggyland. The music video features colorful animated dogs and depicts diverse family units, including two women parenting a puppy child. The disco-tinged song emphasizes self-acceptance and difference as strengths. The collaboration coincides with Spirit Day on 16 October to raise awareness of bullying and bullying-related suicides of LGBTQ+ youth. The project includes a conversation about the reality of being a young LGBTQ+ person and the experience of bullying.
