The couple announced the end of a six-year marriage in July 2023 and agreed to continue co-parenting their children. They share daughter Lucia, six, and son Renn, five. The co-parenting arrangement is solid and calm: they live ten minutes apart, communicate every other day, and prioritize the children's well-being. Parenting is described as a loving, everyday practice that includes conversations with the children about family diversity, different numbers and types of parents, and varied family structures. The experience is framed as both educational for the children and formative for parental identity.
Now, in an interview with Attitude, Yosef has opened up about caring for the youngsters, six-year-old daughter Lucia and son Renn, who is five. 'It's been an extremely lovely kind of experience' "We've had the most wonderful relationship," he said. "It's a very solid and calm co-parenting situation. We live 10 minutes away from each other, we speak every other day. "We love our kids so much. It's been an extremely lovely kind of experience, it's a way of living."
"It's a little bit grand to [say] but it's probably been the most amazing thing to be a queer man in our society today, to raise these kids into a pretty amazing awareness. And this is a conversation I have with my kids every other day, explaining how different families look, how many parents certain kids have, what kind of parents certain kids have."
