The past year has seen Republicans on a tear to introduce anti-trans legislation at every possible opportunity. The ACLU is currently tracking a record 387 bills in state legislatures.
Last fall, Republicans added riders to the defense spending bill that would have targeted paying for trans health care, passing the bans along party lines. The measure was stripped out of the final bill.
