"A man in New York City had his face slashed in an alleged anti-LGBTQ+ attack, after he kissed his boyfriend on the subway. The incident took place at around 7.50pm on January 10 when the 28-year-old male victim was on a southbound No. 6 train which was approaching 23rd Street Station, the New York Police Department (NYPD). As the train was moving, the victim and the unknown assailant got into what the NYPD described as a "verbal dispute" involving anti-LGBTQIA+ statements."
"The attacker then struck the victim in the face with a sharp object, causing a laceration on his right side, before exiting the train at 23rd Street and Park Avenue station and fleeing the scene on foot. As per extra details reported by PIX 11, the unknown assailant allegedly made the anti-queer remarks after he spotted the victim kissing his boyfriend."
A 28-year-old man was attacked on a southbound No. 6 train in Manhattan around 7:50 p.m. on January 10 after he kissed his boyfriend. The assailant engaged the victim in a verbal dispute containing anti-LGBTQIA+ statements and then struck him in the face with a sharp object, causing a laceration to the right side. The attacker exited at 23rd Street and Park Avenue and fled on foot. The victim disembarked at 14th Street Union Square and was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he is expected to recover.
