"Police initially reported to River Street just before 8 p.m. Sept. 13, where they found one man lying in a parking lot bleeding from the back of his head, according to the police report. He was transported to a Boston hospital for further evaluation. One of the alleged victims said he and his partner were walking toward a convenience and liquor store when a group of men "began making anti-homosexual remarks towards them," a police report obtained by Boston.com said."

One victim said he and his partner were walking toward a convenience store when a group of men made anti-homosexual remarks. A verbal dispute escalated into a fight during which one man was struck in the head with a baseball bat. Civil rights detectives released photos of eight men and noted clothing and features of several. The incident is a suspected hate crime.
