Connor Storrie drops exciting Heated Rivalry season 2 update
"Appearing on the US morning show, Today, on Wednesday (14 January) Storrie was asked about when the second season could be expected. "I think Jacob [Tierney, the showrunner] is still writing it," the 25-year-old actor said. "I think we're going to be filming, I think, soon, I don't know when exactly." Asked if filming would be likely to take place around the summer he replied: "Yeah, I think about then.""
"Speaking to Variety in December, the showrunner gave a pragmatic answer when asked about season two's timeline. "It can't be [the] same time next year, because this time last year I'd written five of these [episodes], and this time this year I've written zero of them," Tierney said. "So it's going to be a little bit later, but it's still going to be soon.""
Heated Rivalry is an LGBTQ+ sports series adapted from Rachel Reid's Game Changers novels that follows ice hockey rivals Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) and Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams). The show debuted globally to widespread acclaim for its writing, characters, and romantic scenes. The series' success propelled the lead actors to international fame and increased press attention. Creators confirmed a second season in mid-December. Connor Storrie said on Today that Jacob Tierney is still writing season two and that filming is expected soon, possibly around summer. Tierney has warned he does not want to rush a second season and expects a slightly later timeline.
