Bully mom organizes student walkout to protest a trans girl using the locker room - LGBTQ Nation
""Some of my daughter's friends let me know about all of this going on," Miller told Roseburg's News Register. "As a mom, I don't stand for boys in my daughter's locker room. That's a private area for her.""
""Students were afraid of getting reprimanded from the school to do this," Miller claimed, "so we stood behind them and helped them put it together.""
""I have friends who are transgender, and I see a lot of them get attacked by various sources without them being any sort of problem at all," he said. "In a conservative town like this, I would expect a large turnout, so I want to be there to support that one person who has to feel terrified.""
""It's really disrespectful that trans people are preaching women's rights and then disrespecting our privacy," she said. "I don't have a problem with trans people at all until it makes me uncomfortable.""
Shannon Miller, a Roseburg High School alumna and mother of a student, organized a Facebook-called student walkout to protest a trans girl using the girls' locker room. She instructed students to leave 7th-period classes on October 8 and urged attendees to "keep our girls safe." A couple of hundred students and parents gathered on the sidewalk. Some students counter-protested in support of the transgender student, citing concerns about attacks and safety. Student Layla Seal said trans students disrespect privacy and make her uncomfortable. Miller later posted on Facebook: "Our kids did great!"
