Among all respondents, 86% said they were heterosexual; 1.4% identified as lesbian, 1.6% as gay, 5.3% as bisexual, 1.1% as transgender, and 0.5% as Other LGBTQ+. Identification is much higher among younger adults: 23.0% of ages 18–29 identified as LGBTQ+, including 16.1% bisexual. Only 2.3% of adults over 65 identified as LGBTQ+. Women report bisexuality more than men, and Democrats report LGBTQ+ identities at higher rates than Republicans.
