Housing nonprofit Weingart Center closed a $27.3 million acquisition of a 76-unit assisted living facility in Cheviot Hills to transform into a homeless shelter.
Weingart secured funding from the Project Homekey program to renovate units and build amenities while maintaining the unit count.
Weingart Center is also converting another property in Baldwin Park, with plans to turn a former 108-key hotel into a 107-unit residential complex.
