Elijah Banks, a content creator from Los Angeles, transformed a 400-square-foot studio into a vibrant living space. His style, referred to as a "relaxing and earthy boy apartment," combines thrifting with DIY projects, including unique creations like brown paper bag vases. He emphasizes the challenge of finding pieces that perfectly reflect his identity. The apartment functions not only as a home but also as a 3D printing business and content studio for his TikTok. A standout DIY project is his beanstalk design, which features faux grass and bush materials for added earthiness.
While Elijah might not have invented the term "boy apartment," the videos of his colorful home on TikTok and Instagram certainly perfectly embody the movement.
I would say my biggest challenge was finding pieces that fit and represented me perfectly. Sometimes you can't just go out and buy them - those are the type of pieces you have to wait for.
I did a DIY that I call the beanstalk where I bought fake grass and bush material and glued it to a concrete pillar to give the apartment more earthy feels.
This is really a work and live space - I run a 3D printing business out of it, and it acts as a content studio for my TikTok pages.
