We Tried DC's New Psychedelic Mushroom-Themed Tasting Menu
Briefly

At Mi Vida on 14th Street, guests are treated to a unique dining experience by Sagrada, a concept by Michael Reginbogin, that evokes the feelings of psychedelic journeys. Guests are welcomed with chakra bracelets and infused cacao, setting their intentions for a multi-course tasting menu. The playful moniker of 'sacred medicine' refers to a trio of innovative canapés. Reginbogin, inspired by his own psychedelic experience, aims to create an environment of serenity and reflection through food, offering a $111 menu focused on plant-based cuisine.
The sacred medicine, however, is actually just a trio of canapés: sweet-corn sopes with mushroom 'caviar,' shiitake-shaped tartlets, and huitlacoche empanadas.
The concept is the brainchild of Knead Hospitality cofounder Michael Reginbogin, whose restaurants include Succotash, Gatsby, and others.
'For the very first time in my entire life, I felt what it feels like truly to be at complete serenity,' he says.
Sagrada aims to evoke the experience of psychedelic mushrooms—even though it offers no actual psychedelics, through a tasting menu experience.
