Los Alamitos High School has achieved a rare milestone in high school basketball, as four of its players—Trent Minter, Wes Trevino, Liam Gray, and Samori Guyness—have each scored over 1,000 points during their four-year stint. This accomplishment is particularly impressive given the current trend of player movement in high school sports. The team, led by Coach Nate Berger, is currently performing well with a record of 19-8 and an unbeaten 11-0 in the Sunset League, benefiting from challenging nonleague games that were strategically scheduled for playoff readiness.
It’s a bit astonishing to think that Los Alamitos High has four basketball players who have each scored more than 1,000 points during their four-year career.
The fact they stayed together for four years is notable in an era of player movement.
Los Alamitos is 19-8 and 11-0 in the Sunset League. Coach Nate Berger scheduled one of the toughest groups of nonleague games for his senior-dominated teams in preparation for the playoffs.
