Christian Wood underwent an arthroscopic surgical procedure on his left knee and will be reevaluated by team doctors in approximately eight weeks, according to the Lakers.
Having missed the last two months of the previous season with a left knee injury, Wood had his initial arthroscopic procedure on the knee last March.
Despite his setback, Wood picked up his $3 million player option to remain with the Lakers this offseason. He averaged 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds over 50 games.
The Lakers are set to open their regular season against the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 22, which leaves Wood with a tight timeline for recovery.
