Recent wildfires in Oklahoma have caused devastating damage, resulting in four fatalities and nearly 300 destroyed structures. Among the affected is Governor Kevin Stitt, whose ranch was completely lost to the flames. In a poignant video shared on social media, Stitt expressed his sorrow and determination to rebuild alongside fellow Oklahomans, highlighting the collective effort needed to recover from such a disaster. He described the fire's rapid engulfment of his property, noting the remnants including a damaged basement and standing chimney as a stark reminder of the loss.
After traveling the state today surveying damage, I ended by visiting my ranch where we lost everything to the fires. It's a sad garden update today.
You never think it's going to happen to your place, and these wildfires just come out of nowhere, and can really take over.
We'll be rebuilding with all of Oklahoma, Mr. Stitt says in the video, panning the camera away from himself and toward the ground, which is covered in debris.
This was my place, he adds. Total loss.
