On June 13, 1998, the Los Angeles Dodgers turned the first triple play at Dodger Stadium in a 4-2 loss to the Colorado Rockies. With runners on first and second base in the top of the fifth inning, Darren Dreifort fielded a bunt attempt by Kurt Abbott and threw it to shortstop Jose Vizcaino for the start of a 1-6-4 double play.
Prior to relocating to L.A., the Dodgers turned 19 triple plays during their days in Brooklyn. They most notably turned two within eight days of each other on May 21 and 29, 1890, during their inaugural season in the National League.
