""I do talk to Evan quite often," Scott said at DodgerFest on Saturday. "I mean, we'll see where it goes. I like the guy and hope he comes back.""
""We had a number of back and forth discussions with Evan and his free agent," Friedman said. " It is challenging with him coming off surgery so he is going to take some time and look to sign after he throws off the mound when his rehab allows. Evan has been a big part of our past success and we will continue the conversation about bringing him back. We respect that he is taking this time to decide what is best for him and his family.""
Tanner Scott said he frequently speaks with Evan Phillips and hopes Phillips returns to the Dodgers. The Dodgers non-tendered Phillips in November 2025 after he underwent Tommy John surgery following seven appearances in 2025. The surgery is expected to sideline Phillips for most of 2026, and the team declined to pay full-season arbitration money. Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said there were back-and-forth discussions and that Phillips will likely seek a deal after he resumes mound throwing during rehab. Phillips posted a 2.22 ERA in 201 appearances with Los Angeles and played a key role in the 2024 championship run.
