Shohei Ohtani shares target goal to be ready for Opening Day
Briefly

Shohei Ohtani is undergoing a careful rehabilitation process with the Los Angeles Dodgers after shoulder surgery. After Tommy John surgery previously limited his game participation, this season's lingering discomfort in his shoulder requires a slow progression. As the Dodgers prepare for the Tokyo Series on March 18, Ohtani aims for 50 at-bats during Spring Training. He has already begun to show promise, with a batting line of .375/.375/.750 in three games, emphasizing that game intensity is vital for assessing his shoulder's condition.
"Overall, just live plus seeing pitches in Trajekt, I would like to be able to have at least 50 at-bats," Ohtani said.
"The intensity of the game is different from the practice setting, so it'll be about checking how it feels in a game situation," Ohtani said when asked how he would know if he could fully trust his shoulder.
Ohtani has appeared in three games for the Dodgers during Spring Training, batting .375/.375/.750 with one home run in eight at-bats.
