Memories flood back of the newest inductees into City Section Hall of Fame
Briefly

The City Section will be holding a Hall of Fame induction ceremony, celebrating athletes like Steve Smith, who showed immense talent at a young age. Coach Troy Starr noted Smith's exceptional skills as a freshman, underlining his potential before he became a star. Smith, initially a junior varsity player, scored 27 touchdowns and impressed in basketball as well. He later set state records, excelled at USC, and won a Super Bowl with the New York Giants, earning Hall of Fame recognition at the City Section.
I've never seen anything like him. I've struggled to contain my excitement. Not only did I see him make outrageous plays catching the ball, but outrageous blocks.
He went on to star at USC and win a Super Bowl with the New York Giants. In 2023 he had his Taft jersey number retired.
