Tommy Brown, the last surviving member of the 1947 Dodgers, passed away at 97, having battled pneumonia while recovering from a fall.
Brown made history in 1944 by becoming the youngest position player in MLB history at just 16 years and seven months old.
Though not a star, Brown contributed to the Dodgers' legacy, batting .237 with 15 home runs over seven seasons in an impactful role.
His nickname, 'Buckshot,' reflected a strong arm yet erratic throwing, and he idolized Joe DiMaggio, whom he faced in the '49 World Series.
