Hyeseong Kim continues to impress during spring training
"He's had a great spring. Hyesong, I think his confidence is continuing to grow. His comfort level, being around the guys, I think he's taken great at-bats. It was good to see him in centerfield yesterday, made a couple nice plays out in centerfield."
"We're going to lose him shortly. He's going to go to his team for the WBC, which I'm excited for him. Disappointed that we can't watch him every day, but he's had a great spring and looking forward to him having a great WBC and getting back here."
"After signing with the Dodgers last offseason, Kim got his shot in the majors in May 2025. He took advantage of the opportunity for the first month or so he played in MLB, slashing .422/.458/.600 through May while hitting two of his three home runs on the season."
Hyeseong Kim is performing exceptionally well during spring training for the Los Angeles Dodgers. In a recent game against Arizona, he went 2-for-3 with an RBI and run while making impressive defensive plays in center field, including a diving catch. Manager Dave Roberts praised Kim's growing confidence and comfort level with the team. Kim is competing for the second base position vacated by Tommy Edman's injury recovery. Through spring training, Kim has accumulated a 5-for-10 record with four RBIs and two stolen bases. Following a promising rookie year debut in May 2025 where he slashed .422/.458/.600, Kim finished his first season with a .280/.314/.385 slash line across 71 games.
