The Los Angeles Dodgers traded Gavin Lux to the Cincinnati Reds for prospect Mike Sirota and a competitive balance pick in the 2025 MLB Draft. Lux, who joined the Dodgers in 2016 as a top prospect, had his last significant play as a Dodger during the World Series. Recently facing the Dodgers in a Cactus League game, he voiced appreciation for his time with the team and the connections he made, while also acknowledging the transition in his career and the new opportunities with the Reds following this offseason's trades.
"It's pretty surreal, going and seeing all the guys you won a World Series with on the other side. But it's pretty cool at the same time," he said after the game.
"Good relationships. A lot of love for everyone that is still over there. That stuff doesn't change. You build bonds over years. You never lose those connections with people."
"Thank you to the entire Dodgers organization for taking a chance on an 18 year old kid from Kenosha, Wisconsin and letting him live out his dream of playing in the Majors."
