Shohei Ohtani, who had right elbow surgery in September 2023, resumed his throwing program at Wrigley Field, under the supervision of Dodgers' Brandon McDaniel and Thomas Albert.
Despite the progress in Ohtani's recovery and throwing sessions, the Dodgers have confirmed he will not pitch during the 2024 season, focusing on his role as a designated hitter.
Manager Roberts hinted at the possibility of Ohtani playing in the outfield later in the season if his arm health permits, while Dr. Neal ElAttrache mentioned a plan for Ohtani to face batters in September.
