Dodgers Special Assistant Chris Archer Hopeful For More Black Players In Baseball
Briefly

"I would love to see more representation, but I do understand it takes time for these things to happen. One thing that I love to talk about are the initiatives. The RBI program, the Dream Series that was just this last weekend, the amount of Black American players that have been getting drafted the last several years, kind of shows MLB's investment into the community, the seeds are starting to be planted and we're seeing some fruit from those."
"But I'll say this, it's always going to be a challenge because with basketball and football, people are playing in those sports, they're seeing those athletes on TV, they're much more accessible. So it's about making the game of baseball cooler, you know, some of the celebrations, like when I used to backpedal off the mound and kiss my bicep, people didn't really like that, they would get upset about it, but now that's celebrated, which makes it cooler."
