Alex Freeland was promoted to the Los Angeles Dodgers following Hyeseong Kim's placement on the 10-day injured list due to shoulder bursitis. He has started in six of eight games, initially at third base and now transitioning to the middle infield. Freeland is expected to play multiple games at second base while filling in for Edman. Despite a productive start, his stint may be short-lived as Kim is nearing a return, reporting to be about 90% recovered. Freeland made errors in a recent game while adapting to his new role.
Freeland has had a productive start to his Major League career, reaching base seven times in 23 plate appearances thus far.
Hyeseong is going well. He said he's about 90%, which probably means about 80 to 85%.
Freeland's start at second base on Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals is expected to be the first of multiple opportunities there.
The 26-year-old has completed various field work recently, including hitting fielding and running.
