Biggio had been designated for assignment by the Blue Jays despite still having Minor League options, presumably choosing not to exercise them. He was acquired by the Dodgers and designated as a corresponding move to Freeman's return.
Manager Dave Roberts praised Biggio's versatility and intended to primarily use him at third base against right-handed pitching, willing to shift him to other positions as needed. Biggio showed improvement in his performance towards the end of his time with the Dodgers.
Biggio hit .192/.306/.329 with the Dodgers but improved in his final seven games, batting .217/.357/.522, along with showcasing his fielding skills at first base.
The Dodgers DFA'd Biggio as a move corresponding to Freddie Freeman's return to the team.
