Dodgers Fan Derek Carr Owns Key Piece of 2025 World Series History
"We have it in the office and we put it right in the door where we do our 'Homegrown' deal. If you want to come in our office, you have to round second base to come in. It's awesome. It's got the dirt marks, it's got the cleat marks, it's got everything. This is such a precious thing to some Dodger fans, obviously, for that moment to end right there at second base and now it's sitting here in our office in Fresno, California, is pretty cool."
Derek Carr, a retired NFL quarterback who played for the Raiders, Saints, and other teams, is a California native and lifelong Los Angeles Dodgers fan. He and his brother David Carr, also an NFL quarterback, acquired the second base from Game 6 of the 2025 World Series as a gift from a business partner. The base features the dirt and cleat marks from the pivotal double play that ended the game, where Kike Hernandez caught a fly ball and threw to Miguel Rojas to prevent a tag-up. The Carrs display the authentic base in their office in Fresno, positioning it at their doorway so visitors must round second base to enter. Derek Carr now hosts the "Homegrown" podcast with his brother following his retirement from professional football.
