Dodgers' Dave Roberts, Miguel Rojas Discuss Surprise Turning Point in World Series Run
""That will be the last full sprint I ever do in my life,""
""I got some meds in me. I'm still going to post. I'm probable. ... Not my best decision, but it worked out.""
""Right before a Game 6 facing elimination, this guy is on the ground with his uniform full of dirt, and he's not backing away from it. So that's what it tells you about Doc, and he'll do anything for this group to spark the team.""
""My plan was to make everyone laugh, which it worked. But I didn't plan to fall on my face and I hurt my hamstring, but in that situation, I felt we needed to have some fun and guys need to relax and loosen up,""
Dave Roberts raced Hyeseong Kim from first to third at Rogers Centre, tripped, face-planted and grabbed his hamstring. Roberts joked that it would be his last full sprint and said he had medication and would be probable to play despite the injury. Miguel Rojas noted that Roberts being on the ground with a dirty uniform before an elimination Game 6 demonstrated the lengths Roberts would go to spark the team. Roberts said his goal was to make everyone laugh and help players relax. The Dodgers won the World Series, winning both elimination games on the road.
