Teoscar Hernández strained his left hamstring while running to first base on a groundout in the bottom of the second inning. He walked back slowly, appeared frustrated, went to the clubhouse, and was replaced in the third inning. Manual testing on Wednesday was encouraging, and an MRI on Thursday confirmed a Grade 1 hamstring strain. The Dodgers expect him to miss at least a few weeks and will not rush his return, though no specific timeline is set. A Grade 1 strain typically recovers in one to three weeks, faster than Grade 2 (one to two months) or a complete tear (at least two months). After landing on the 10-day injured list, the Dodgers recalled Ryan Ward from Triple-A Oklahoma City to split left-field time with Alex Call, with Ward facing right-handed pitching and Call facing left-handed pitching.
"“Teo, we lose to a left hamstring,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts began. “Had the scans, it turned out to be a Grade 1 hamstring strain, which is a positive. So just imagine that it would be a little bit shorter than originally thought. Still don't really have a timeline for Teo.”"
