Turner, who played for the Dodgers from 2014 to 2022, was respected by both the organization and fans, evolving from an unproven invitee to an accomplished player. Dodgers' manager, Dave Roberts, shared his admiration for Turnerâs career and remarked on the unique experience of managing against him. Turner, who signed a one-year contract with the Cubs, has indicated he would appreciate a future return to the Dodgers in any capacity after retirement.
"I have a ton of respect for him. He's one of the players I was closest to. He's had a great career. It's different competing against him, but it's still exciting," Roberts said.
"That's not really up to me all the way. It's a two-way street," Turner said last year. "Would I like to work here someday? I'm from Southern California...it would be something that I really, really took into consideration."
