The Los Angeles Dodgers had an eventful offseason and showed promising performance during spring training. However, during their first Cactus League game, pitcher Bobby Miller had a close call when he was nearly struck in the head by a line drive shortly after returning from injury. Despite this incident, pitching coach Mark Prior reassured observers that Miller seemed unhurt and emphasized that such occurrences are unfortunate realities of being a pitcher. With his velocity nearing 99 mph, the Dodgers are optimistic about Miller's return to form on the mound.
During the Dodgers' first Cactus League game, up-and-coming star pitcher Bobby Miller was drilled in the head by a 105.5 mph line drive just 11 pitches into his first spring training start.
Pitching coach Mark Prior spoke on what it was like to see Miller almost get drilled by another line drive to his head, "He seemed fine after the fact... It's part of the game. You never want to see it, but you kind of got to get back on the horse and do it."
