2 Dodgers stars place hhockingly low in ESPN position rankings
"Tucker, who the Dodgers signed to a four-year, $240 million contract this offseason, still had a solid 2025 season despite being hindered by injury, and has managed to maintain a place among the best players in the league. He hit 22 homers and recorded 73 RBIs through 136 games and accrued 4.6 bWAR, which marked the fifth consecutive season in which his bWAR total reached 4.0."
"Shortstop may be the most star-laden position in MLB at the moment, with just about every team possessing a top quality player on the left side of second base. The quality of the position is so high, as a matter of fact, the American League's starting shortstop in the 2025 All-Star Game - the Athletics' Jacob Wilson - missed out on the Top 10 entirely."
"Tucker's issues with a hairline fracture in his hand affected his production, but a solid year with the Dodgers in 2026 could very well propel him back into a conversation for the Top 3."
Kyle Tucker and Mookie Betts, both Los Angeles Dodgers All-Stars, fell outside the top five in ESPN's positional rankings heading into 2026. Tucker placed sixth among corner outfielders behind Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Corbin Carroll, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Ronald Acuña Jr. Despite a hand injury limiting his production, Tucker hit 22 homers with 73 RBIs and 4.6 bWAR across 136 games, marking his fifth consecutive season above 4.0 bWAR. Betts ranked eighth among shortstops, behind seven players including Bobby Witt Jr., Francisco Lindor, and Corey Seager. Betts experienced his worst career season in 2025, starting slowly before recovering in late summer. Both players' down years affected their rankings despite their established elite status.
