After firing head coach Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth, the Denver Nuggets rebounded impressively, dominating the LA Clippers in Game 7 of their playoff series. Nikola Jokic noted that these changes were necessary for rejuvenating the team's energy as they were on a losing streak. The Nuggets showcased depth in their lineup during the game, particularly from Christian Braun, who contributed significantly with early scoring. This victory marks a stark contrast to the previous year's playoff disappointment, with Denver returning to championship-caliber form.
"If we don't make the changes, there's no way we're even in a Game 7," a Nuggets executive told ESPN.
"I think the owner .... wanted to change something, to change the energy and probably he did," Jokic said after the Nuggets finished off a 120-101 win over the LA Clippers Saturday night in Game 7 of their first round playoff series.
The fourth-seeded Nuggets were masterful in Game 7, leading the Clippers by as many as 35 points to finish off what had been the most competitive series of the first round.
Christian Braun has mostly been valuable for his defense on Harden in this series, but Saturday he helped get Denver off to a strong start, scoring 9 of the teams 21 points in the first quarter.
