Max Verstappen secured his fourth consecutive victory at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, enhancing his F1 title defense while defeating current standings leader Oscar Piastri and McLaren's Lando Norris. Following a pivotal overtake on Piastri at the race's start, Verstappen maintained control, despite a safety car interruption. Norris managed to outpace Piastri in the final laps, finishing second. Verstappen's win was also symbolic as it marked Red Bull's 400th F1 race. Hamilton completed a remarkable recovery to finish fourth in his first race with Ferrari.
"I was still on the outside line, or basically the normal [racing] line, and I was like, Well, I'm just going to try and send it round the outside,' and it worked really well."
"We had a good little battle at the end between Oscar and myself, which is always tense but always good fun, Norris said, admitting that Verstappen and Red Bull were too good for us today."
