Tom Aspinall: Only 'Uneducated Fans' Had Pereira Winning Against Ankalaev
Briefly

Tom Aspinall expressed disbelief over fans claiming Alex Pereira won his fight against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313. Ankalaev secured a unanimous decision victory by applying consistent forward pressure throughout the bout while Pereira effectively defended takedown attempts. Despite Pereira's performance, Aspinall mentioned doubts regarding his wrestling readiness, arguing that Ankalaev used grappling tactics strategically to exhaust Pereira rather than commit fully to takedowns. Aspinall contends that opinions favoring Pereira stem from uneducated assessment rather than an informed viewpoint.
I can't believe people watched that fight and thought that Pereira won. It's just wild to me how many uneducated fans are out there.
He definitely defended the takedowns well, but me with an educated eye watching it - I don't think Ankalaev was really trying to take him down that much.
I think Ankalaev had the perfect game plan: he didn't over commit, tired him out.
