Gleison Bremer underwent surgery this morning to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The operation, which was performed at the Hôpital Privé Jean Mermoz in Lyon by Dr Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet in the presence of Juventus' medical director Dr Luca Stefanini, was deemed a success.
Juventus faced the reality of their best defender not being around for a while after Bremer's injury. Given the seriousness of the ACL tear, the rehab process is expected to be lengthy, with estimates suggesting he could miss the entire 2024-25 season.
Although Juventus did not provide an official timetable for Bremer's return, it is widely expected that he will miss significant time, including potentially the Club World Cup next summer. The extent of his rehabilitation will be key in determining his fitness levels as the recovery progresses.
