"I'm only just getting to the point where I'm playing without pain in my arm, so it's not easy to feel really confident. Obviously I've been playing a little bit, but I've got to accept that my tennis isn't going to be completely there for a while."
"I've been watching him since I was a young boy and in my opinion he's the greatest player of all time. When you come up against him you know he's going to be there mentally, you know he's going to make it an incredibly tough match and play some crazy tennis."
Jack Draper continues his recovery from an arm injury with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Francisco Cerundolo at Indian Wells, securing a last-16 meeting with Novak Djokovic. The 24-year-old British player returned to the ATP Tour last week in Dubai after eight months away and has now won successive matches at the same tournament for the first time since Queen's in June. Draper dominated the first set but faced significant pressure in the second, where Cerundolo served to level before losing serve twice consecutively. Draper acknowledges he is still regaining confidence as pain subsides from his arm injury and expects to need improvement for his encounter with Djokovic, whom he previously faced at Wimbledon in 2021. Fellow British player Cameron Norrie also advanced to round four with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over world number six Alex de Minaur.
