Rivian Reveals New Charger Design That Works With Other EVs
Briefly

Rivian is opening up its charging network and designing new EV chargers to support not only Rivians but other EVs, with plans to eventually incorporate NACS support into all its new vehicles by 2025.
The new charger design features a minimalist style, larger display, tap-to-pay terminal, and is compatible with both 400- and 800-volt EVs, but initially will only have CCS connectors, requiring an adapter for NACS-equipped EVs.
Rivian aims to expand its charging network by building new locations and upgrading existing ones, with a target to increase the number of locations from 67 to 600 and the total charging stalls from 400 to 3,500.
Rivian will become eligible for national and federal charging network subsidies as it opens up its charging network, following Tesla's example, although Rivian already has access to Tesla's Supercharger network.
